Asylum Seekers
We specialise in helping& supporting Asylum Seekers to integrate into the community. We are able to provide them with access to immigration solicitors who will help and support them through their asylum-seeking application process. We will help them to understand British law and the way it works, and reassure and support them.
We will help support them in accessing education, particularly ESOL, training and employment opportunitites,
We encourage them to integrate and maintain links with their own community groups; provide access to the Red Cross for those who wish to trace family members, and fully prepare asylum seekers for the responsibilities of independent living, future citizenship, instilling british values and integration into the UK.
Where appropriate, where a young person approaches the age of 21 and has not had any decision from the Home Office on their Asylum Application, Young Roots Care Services will complete all the necessary forms for their referral to NASS. To help protect and support the young people who have turned 21 years of age, Young Roots will operate within the guidelines of the placing local authority's Vulnerable Young Adult Protection Policy (or equivalent).
